BeatPass lets you use tracks in two main ways:
  • Download a track under a standard non-exclusive license when your account has download access
  • Buy an exclusive license for eligible tracks with one-time Stripe checkout
This section explains what actually happens in the current product, including when licenses appear, where to find them, and what the platform verifies publicly.
Important: Track downloads and license certificate availability are related, but they are not the same step. A download can succeed even when the certificate is not ready to open yet.

License types

Non-exclusive license

Standard BeatPass download license for eligible users. Multiple artists can license the same beat, and attribution is required.

Exclusive license

One-time purchase for eligible tracks. After purchase, no new non-exclusive licenses are issued for that beat.

The exact exclusive terms come from the license preview and the certificate generated for that purchase. Do not assume every track uses the same custom terms forever.

How the current flow works

1

Choose a track

On the track page, use Download for standard access or Buy Exclusive when the track is sold that way.
2

BeatPass checks access

Downloads require login, valid download access, and a current subscription state. Sold-exclusive tracks are blocked for everyone except the exclusive buyer and the track owner.
3

Your audio or purchase completes

Standard downloads deliver the track file. Exclusive purchases go through Stripe card checkout and generate an exclusive license on success.
4

Find your license

When BeatPass has an active license ready, you can open it from the post-download flow, the track page, or Library -> Licenses.
5

Verify when needed

Every license can be checked on the public verification page using its UUID.

What is included today

Standard track downloads

The current standard download flow downloads the track file itself. License access is handled separately through certificate views and Library -> Licenses.
On successful purchase, BeatPass generates the exclusive license, marks the beat as sold, attempts an immediate track download, and stores the license in Library -> Licenses. The final deliverables are defined by the license preview and certificate for that track.
Certificate tools depend on completed BeatPass fingerprint data. That matters for certificate access and verification, but fingerprint completion is not a universal gate for every download.
