A quick reference for terms and concepts you’ll encounter on BeatPass.

A

A milestone badge you unlock by reaching specific goals on BeatPass — such as uploading a certain number of tracks or earning a set amount of plays. Achievements are displayed on your profile and contribute to your XP. See Achievements.
A group of tracks bundled together under a single title and cover art. Producers create albums to organize related beats. Listeners can browse and like entire albums.
The public page for a verified producer on BeatPass. It displays a bio, discography, pinned track, professional credits, and social stats. See Artist Profiles.

B

The producer-only area of BeatPass where you manage tracks, albums, and content settings. Access it from your profile menu.
Content-level analytics for individual tracks, albums, or artist profiles. Shows plays, engagement, geographic data, and more. See Backstage Insights.
A feature that lets subscribers request custom beats from producers. Requests use tokens and include specifications like genre, BPM, and mood. See Beat Requests.
The acoustic fingerprinting technology that creates a unique digital signature for every track uploaded to BeatPass. It links licenses to specific audio files and enables verification. See BeatPassID.

C

A curated feed of content on BeatPass, organized by genre, mood, or theme. Channels are updated automatically or by editors. See Channels.
When multiple producers are credited on the same track. Collaborators share the track’s contribution value equally. Collaborative tracks appear on each credited producer’s profile.
A calculated score that determines how much subscription revenue a track earns. It factors in time decay, popularity (plays), and collaboration splits. See Contribution System.
The image displayed alongside a track or album. Producers can upload custom artwork or use BeatPass cover art templates. See Cover Art.

D–E

The collection of all tracks and albums on a producer’s artist profile, organized into tabs like Popular, Tracks, Albums, and Reposts.
A one-time purchase that grants sole ownership of a beat. The track is removed from general availability, and no new non-exclusive licenses are issued. See Exclusive Licenses.
The free tier on BeatPass. Explorers can browse, play, and like beats, but cannot download or license music. See Plans & Pricing.
Points earned by producers for actions like uploading tracks, earning plays, and completing metadata. XP determines your producer level and unlocks achievements. See XP System.

F–G

See BeatPassID. The unique acoustic signature generated for each uploaded track.
The time between cancelling a subscription and losing access. During the grace period, you keep all plan features and can resume your subscription without resubscribing.
A channel dedicated to a specific music genre, such as Trap, R&B, or Lo-Fi. See Genre Channels.

L

Rankings that compare producers by plays, XP, achievements, or other metrics. Leaderboards are available globally, by genre, and for rising stars. See Leaderboards.
Your personal collection on BeatPass — liked beats, liked albums, followed artists, listening history, beat requests, and license certificates. See Your Library.
A verifiable document that proves your right to use a beat. Contains track details, license terms, the BeatPassID fingerprint, and a unique verification URL. See License Certificates.

N–P

A license granted automatically when a subscriber downloads a beat. Multiple artists can license the same beat. Terms are standardized by BeatPass. See Downloads & Licensing.
A license that never expires. Even if you cancel your subscription or the beat is removed, your right to use it remains valid forever.
A track a producer highlights at the top of their artist profile. Only one track can be pinned at a time.
A transparent fee added to exclusive beat purchases (12% + $3). The producer receives 100% of their listed price. See Platform Fee.
The career-level management hub for producers. Includes catalog management, earnings, activity feed, progress tracking, and leaderboards. See Producer Dashboard.
A portfolio feature on artist profiles where producers can showcase their work on tracks released outside BeatPass, linked via Spotify. See Professional Credits.

Q–R

The temporary list of upcoming tracks in the player. You can add, remove, and reorder tracks in the queue. The queue resets when you close the app. See Queue & Playback.
An automatic recommendation feature that generates a playlist of similar tracks based on a seed track, album, or artist. See Radio.
Sharing someone else’s track to your own profile feed so your followers can discover it. See Reposts.

S

A guarantee that beats uploaded to BeatPass are original and free of uncleared samples. Producers confirm this during upload. See Sample-Safe.
The payment system producers use to receive earnings. Connecting a Stripe account is required to receive payouts from subscription revenue and exclusive sales. See Stripe Connect.
A user with a paid BeatPass plan (Classic, Plus, or Pro). Subscribers can download beats with non-exclusive licenses, create beat requests, and access premium features.

T–V

The gradual decrease in a track’s contribution value over time. Newer tracks contribute more to the revenue pool. The half-life is approximately 6 months. See Earnings Formula.
The currency used to create beat requests. Tokens are included with paid subscription plans and refresh monthly. See Understanding Tokens.
A badge on an artist profile indicating the producer’s identity has been confirmed by BeatPass. See Verified Badge.
