BeatPass comments are public conversation threads shown on track and album pages. Track comments can also carry a waveform position so other listeners can jump to the exact moment you referenced.

Track Comments vs Album Comments

Content typeHow comments behave
Track pagesYou can place a comment on the waveform so it shows a timestamp marker and a normal thread entry below
Album pagesComments are standard thread comments without waveform positioning

Leaving a Track Comment

1

Open the track page

Go to the full track page so the waveform comments bar and comments section are visible.
2

Pick a moment on the waveform

Click the waveform where you want the comment marker to appear.
3

Write the comment

Enter your text in the comment form and submit it.
4

Review the result

The comment appears in the thread, and the waveform marker is attached to the selected position.
If you want the comment tied to a specific drop, transition, or sample moment, pause playback first and then click the waveform.

Replies, Reporting, and Deleting

Each visible comment thread can include:
  • Replies from signed-in users
  • Report comment from the comment’s More menu
  • Delete for your own comment
  • Delete for the owner or editor of the track or album
Deleting a comment removes it from the conversation thread. BeatPass does not expose an end-user undo flow in the player UI.

Where Comments Appear

  • Track pages: waveform markers plus the full comment thread below the track details
  • Album pages: the comment thread below the track list
For playback-specific guidance on waveform markers, see Waveform Comments.

Best Practices

For Listeners

Be Specific

Reference the part of the track or album you are reacting to.

Be Constructive

Helpful feedback is more useful than vague praise or criticism.

Keep It Public-Safe

Comments are public. Write as if the artist and other listeners will read it.

Use Replies

Reply to the existing thread instead of starting duplicate comments on the same point.

For Producers

  • Respond when it makes sense to keep the thread useful
  • Moderate thoughtfully instead of deleting normal criticism
  • Use comment notifications if you want to catch new public feedback quickly

Comment Notifications

Producers can receive Comments & Replies notifications when someone comments on their beats or replies in those threads. Configure this from Notification Preferences.

Troubleshooting

Check the following:
  • You are logged in
  • Comments are visible on this track or album page
  • Your comment meets the minimum text requirement
Your comment may have been deleted by you, by the content owner, or by moderation staff.
Open the full track page and check the same part of the waveform again. Waveform markers are only available on track comments, not album comments.
