Every BeatPass channel combines three main ideas:
  1. A content model such as tracks, artists, albums, playlists, users, genres, or nested channels
  2. A layout such as grid, table, list, carousel, or another supported presentation
  3. A content source such as manually curated items, provider-fed updates, or personalized recommendations

Why This Matters

Once you understand the channel model, several BeatPass pages make more sense:
  • The homepage is a channel-driven surface.
  • Genre pages are channels with genre restrictions.
  • Some channel pages are made of nested channels rather than direct track lists.

Not Every Channel Works The Same Way

Channels can differ in:
  • The kind of content they hold
  • Whether they have filters
  • Whether they are nested inside another channel
  • Whether the content is static, curated, or personalized
A channel page is not guaranteed to be a track grid. In the current system it may be a track table, list, collection showcase, carousel, or a container of other channels.
