How Notifications Work

BeatPass sends you updates through three different channels:

Email

Notifications delivered to your email inbox. Great for important updates you don’t want to miss.

Browser

Real-time pop-ups in your browser. Perfect for instant alerts when you’re online.

In-App

Collected in your notification center (the bell icon). Check them anytime you’re on BeatPass.

What You’ll Be Notified About

Depending on your account type, you’ll see different notification categories:

Everyone Gets

  • New Uploads — When producers you follow release new beats
  • New Follower — When someone follows your profile
  • Direct Messages — When you receive a private message
  • Playlist Invites — When you’re invited to collaborate on a playlist
  • Beat Submissions — When a producer submits a beat to your request
  • Special Offers — Promotions and exclusive deals

Producers Also Get

  • Matching Requests — When a new beat request matches your style
  • Track Likes — When someone likes your beats
  • Comments & Replies — When someone comments on your beats or replies
  • Reposts — When someone shares your beats
  • License Granted — When someone gets a license for your beat
  • Track Downloads — When subscribers download your beats
  • Play Milestones — When your beats hit 100, 1K, 10K plays, and more
  • Achievement Unlocked — When you earn producer achievements

Managing Your Notifications

Open Notification Settings

Navigate to /notifications/settings directly, or click the settings icon (gear) in the notification dropdown.

Review Categories

You’ll see notification categories organized by type. Some may be locked if they’re for producers only.

Toggle Channels

For each notification type, toggle on/off which channels you want:
  • Email — On/Off
  • Browser — On/Off
  • In-App — On/Off

Use Quick Controls

Use Enable All or Disable All buttons at the top to quickly adjust all notifications at once. You can also toggle entire channels (all Email, all Browser, or all In-App).

Save Changes

Click Save Preferences to apply your changes.

Browser Notifications

To receive real-time browser notifications:
  1. When you enable browser notifications in your settings, your browser will ask for permission
  2. Click Allow when prompted
  3. If you accidentally blocked them, you’ll need to enable them in your browser settings
If browser notifications are blocked by your browser, you’ll see a warning message on your notification settings page. You’ll need to manually enable them in your browser settings to receive real-time alerts.

Tips

  • Don’t want marketing emails? Turn off “Special Offers” in the Promotions category
  • Too many emails? Keep Email off but In-App on — check notifications when convenient
  • Missing important updates? Make sure Email is enabled for categories you care about
  • Want instant alerts? Enable Browser notifications for real-time pop-ups
